Things had happened too fast for him to have a moment to stop and call people. They were coming for Jake and he couldn't lose him. He found a hotel room as soon as he could find one, using cash. As much as he missed Sam he wasn't sure it was fair to ask her to come to him and Jake, but she also deserved to know he was alright and was sorry he left. So he called her from a burner he bought.

She understood where he was coming from. She hadn't slept good since he'd left either. She leaned up and kissed him once more before grabbing them both a towel and stepping out of the tub.

"Maybe you'll sleep better tonight...both of us."

"I think I will." He smiled shy at that knowing he would because he'd have her again next to him.

She loved that shy smile but never pointed it out as she quickly dried off and pulled her panties back on. "Can you grab me a shirt to sleep in?" she asked, not wanting to walk in half naked and find Jake awake.

"I'll be right back." He smiled and padded out grabbing her a large shirt of his and brought it back in for her.

She towel dried her hair and was brushing through it when he came back in the bathroom and quickly had a big smile on her face as she pulled his shirt up to her face and took a deep breath before pulling it over her head. "Mmm...I love your shirts. I brought you both some more clothes. It didn't look like you took much with you."

"Thank you for that. You always take care of us." He smiled and drew her close with a kiss.

"Mmm..." she groaned softly into his mouth before settling her body against his. "Love you, Marty." she whispered, hoping he liked that nickname as much as he did since she called him that so much.

"Love you too Sammy." He stole another soft kiss.

She rubbed her nose gently against his before burrowing her face into his chest and falling asleep not long after.

When he awoke he had to look to see if she was still there, almost fearing he had dreamed it all up. Yet he could feel the warm weight of her body against his and he smiled gently. He looked over to check on Jake who was awake and watching them. Martin smiled, he had the two most important people with him. No matter what happened now he wasn't letting that change.

Sam had felt the change in Martin's breathing and the slight shift when he woke up but she didn't move. It felt so good to be cuddled up with him. It was the best night's sleep she'd had since he left. She finally stretched and slid her hand underneath his shirt, rubbing her hand across his warm skin. "You're so warm." she whispered, opening her eyes and looking up at him with a smile.

He smiled and looked down at her stroking her cheek. "Feels nice to wake up with you again. Look who is awake."

"No more waking up without me, you hear?" The words were more intimidating than her tone but she quickly moved on when he mentioned Jake and she sat up, a smile on her face as she looked over at the little boy. "Hey, Jake. I missed you, buddy."

"I promise." He smiled and slipped out of bed.

Jake watched her a few moments before he waved at her with a small smile.

Sam stayed in bed but sat up, keeping her eyes on Jake as he watched her. Her smile grew wider when he waved and she waved back. "Are you ready for another big day on the road going....um...I don't know where." she chuckled, knowing Jake wouldn't answer but she enjoyed talking to him.

Jake only nodded and got up moving closer to her.

She smiled as he moved closer, patting the bed for him to sit down if he wanted. "You wanna sit down? Maybe we should find you some clothes to wear...you and me both. We can't take off in our pajamas, can we?" she teased, watching him. From the first day she'd met him, there was something between them that she couldn't explain.

He thought a moment then went and crawled on the bed with her, while Martin watched them from the small kitchen with a smile. Jake nodded at her words then out of the blue hugged her.

When he hugged her, she was speechless, glancing up at Martin before her arms wrapped around Jake and she hugged him back. He hadn't done this very often and it always happily surprised her. She just never knew when he would pull away.
