Things had happened too fast for him to have a moment to stop and call people. They were coming for Jake and he couldn't lose him. He found a hotel room as soon as he could find one, using cash. He just turned him and his son into fugitives. As much as he missed Sam he wasn't sure it was fair to ask her to come to him and Jake, but she also deserved to know he was alright and was sorry he left. So he called her from a burner he bought.

"I missed you both, too." she smiled, looking over at Jake and then up at him.

"We are together now, and that's what is important." He smiled softly.

"And we're gonna stay that way." she added, a small smile on her face.

"Yes we are. I don't want to be without you again." He nuzzled gently.
